Chicory
Chicory is a herb which is known to have cleansing
properties that can help with symptoms of gout. Chicory contains a mild diuretic, which increases the rate at which the kidneys process contaminants in the system. This increased performance of the kidneys means that the rate at which uric acid is removed from the system is increased. This in turn leads to less build up of uric acid build up in the joints which helps to alleviate the sufferer of pain and swelling.
Used externally as a topical application, it is said to have healing properties and can help to relieve the pain and swelling caused by Gout. To create a poultice, boil some chicory leaves and flowers in a little water and then wrap them in a cloth. Hold the poultice in place on the joint until it has cooled and then replenish the cloth with warm solution. Repeat until necessary.
In addition to chicory, a number of other herbs are known to have properties which can help in the case of gout. For further information on these herbs and how to use them, pick up a copy of outwithgout today so that you can begin to treat your symptoms.
